Wednesday evening meets begin at 6:00pm and Saturday morning meets begin at 9:00am. All swimmers should be at the pool 1 hour before the meet start time. Each team will have a 15-minute warm-up period in the pool. Before the meet begins, the coaches will hand out a card to younger swimmers telling them what events they are swimming that day. Older swimmers refer to the line-up sheets that are posted. It is very important that your child be at the pool on time because any children not there well before the meet start time will be scratched from their events and replaced by other swimmers.
Most meets last 3 - 31/2 hours. Even if your child is finished swimming early in the meet, they should stay to cheer on their teammates and participate in the end of meet cheer. If you do have to leave a meet early, please notify the coaches before leaving to be sure your child is not scheduled in a free relay at the end of the meet!
At each meet, a teenage swimmer will be assigned to each of the younger age groups (6&U, 8&U, 9-10) to help get the kids lined up and checked in before their events. You can help by making sure your child is at the designated meeting area and ready to swim (goggles and cap on) several events ahead of time. The coaches and teenagers do not always have time to hunt down missing swimmers who might be in the bathroom or at the concession stand!
At the end of the event, encourage your child to ask the timer for his/her time.
